Bis vincit qui se vincit in Victoria

Bis vincit qui se vincit in Victoria” -(Syrus) ,
In English “He conquers twice who in the hour of conquest conquers himself.

It’s amazing the any ways that we can upset ourselves for tiny things in life… it’s true, we all do it, we can’t help it… I constantly do it. Making myself think that my emotions have nothing to do with reality but it’s actually the opposite.

The more important emotion is fear. You may ask – fear? Important??? – Yes! It has always been with us, even when we didn’t have conscious of life itself… it was one of the first emotion we had when we first come in this world and when we leave this place to beyond, it will be one of the last… it makes us stronger, makes us be prepared for the next step ahead…

Emotions run our world in so many different ways. They’re not always for the best but that’s what makes us human.

Your emotions are part of who you are so let it be…

The Rareness of Friendship

Friendship, what a rare thing… do you really have trustful friends?

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." - Martin Luther King Jr.

I start this post with a Martin Luther King’s quote.
I have never found a true friend, a person that I can count with, someone that will be happy for my happiness and wont be envy or sad… someone that I can talk and share my problems and glories and be shared with his problems and glories…
Friends? I have a hand full… however true friends I have none… I walk this lonesome path, with an empty space, wondering one day to be filled. Wondering if I will ever have someone to walk with on that lonely rode…
It really hurts the most when it’s your friends that hurt you, when you thought you knew all about one person but now you see that it was just an illusion of fate…
The things you thought you knew for sure aren’t so certain anymore…

My philosophy

In every corner of night, there is always a light. Seek it and make it bright!”-by me.

My philosophy… my guide…

We all have bad moments in our life. Some worse then other, and other you can’t believe you’re still alive… But we should always look forward to that light which has always been inside of us, our inner strength… our meaning to live…

Bad times came and go… but we only have one life… one opportunity to do good… to make it for us and for the ones around us… seek that inner light and make it bright…

Page soundtrack

I though putting some background music would make the reading more relaxing and pleasing…

The sound track is from Enigma – Beyond the invisible.

What do you think?

And what if we could live forever?

And what if we could live forever? Could we call this present? Future, what does it mean? Would we continue to fight for a place in this eternity? When would it stop? We will keep moving trough life, wondering what does death feel like… will it hurt? I believe the body is the prison to our soul yet without it we wouldn’t have lived at all. And what would you choose? The fountain of knowledge or the fountain of life? Would you choose? Would you leave it alone? Too late now, all is over… no pain nor sound… just empty space awaiting you… but again, what if we could live forever?...

coments?

Poems

One of my hobbies is to write poems. I guess it sets me free from the cruel world I live in… so when I get sad or disappointed with something, I write. I write with all my feelings with all my soul… here’s one of my latest poems:

Deliverance

In a dream will you give your love to me
Take my hand and lead me
Save me from me
Until I finally see

Under each second
You’re passing away
The memory will soar
And won’t betray

I’m not running
I fear nothing
You can see me, you won’t hurt me
It’s craved in my soul
Never to regret that one thing I won’t forget
So stop pretending and don’t try understanding

Under my hate
You’ll always find yourself
Lost among the lies
And realize, it’s to late

There’s nothing else here
Nothing you can say
No fear no tear
I made my way

Oh, I forgot to say. Most of my poems are pretty sad and dark… the dark side of me…
Deliverance, I wrote because I made a final decision to let go of my nightmares, let go of the things that were haunting me in the past. I look forward now with no fear “no fear no tear / I made my way”

Here’s a poem a friend of mine wrote for me:

Confesso

Corpo de mulher tu tens
Alma de um anjo também
E uma luz radiante
Que te levará mais alem

Não penses k tudo é lindo
Não penses k tudo é belo
Vives num mundo mágico
Luta para poderes tê-lo

Se a luz se apagar
Não vais conseguir sonhar
Mas conta sempre comigo
Estou cá para a ligar

E de volta à vida te deixarei
E de regresso te apoiarei
Espero k um dia te lembres
Destas palavras k te confessei

Dedicado a ti...
Beijo***

It’s in Portuguese but here’s the translation:

I confess

Body of woman you have
Soul of an angel you also have
It’s a radiating light
That will take you more away

Do not think that everything is pretty
Do not think that everything is beautiful
You live in a magical world
Fight to be able to have it

If the light burns down
You won’t be able to dream
But you can always counts on me
I am here to make it light again

And back to life I will leave you
And in return I will support you
I hope you remember
These words that I confessed to you

Dedicated to you…
Kiss ***

Beautiful, right? Thanks Xtevao, you’re always in heart!

Allison Mack's Blog

Allison Mack, the brilliant actress from the TV series Smallville known as Chloe, is a webmistress of a very remarkable website/blog… since her words are so inspiring and appealing; I’ve past by there today and decided to comment.
Really makes you stop and think about you and everyone around you…

I strongly recommend it!

School trip to Lisbon

What a trip! 2 days of viewing museums. Most of my classes are all about art, so we went to all kind of art museums.

I had a blast yet in the second day we got really tire, because we walked a lot to see museum after museum – no stop!
The sleep over was pretty fun. We all had a great time plus the teachers were excellent!
I think I’ve learned a lot from this trip, I’ve gain more experience about all kind of art and I think I’ve grown to find the better part of me.

A special thanks to my English teacher, Albertina Viegas, without her this school trip wouldn’t have been made! And to my class 11º2º, we rock!

Smallville and the Cast

My new obsession, Smallville and Tom Welling.

“Smallville is an American television series that follows the adventures of a young Clark Kent (Tom Welling), as a teenager living in Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Smallville debuted on October 16, 2001 on the WB Network, though it now airs on The CW (following the merger of The WB and UPN after the respective networks ceased operations) and is currently in its sixth season. Smallville is filmed in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada.
The series inspired a spin-off pilot episode (Aquaman) that was never aired. Promotional tie-ins have included: three sets of online web series, two of which were produced by Verizon (Smallville: Chloe Chronicles and Smallville: Vengeance Chronicles) and the other by Sprint (Smallville Legends: The Oliver Queen Chronicles), a series of young-adult novels, a DC Comics comic book and soundtrack releases. The show broke Charmed's record for highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers tuning in for its pilot episode. Viewers will often observe lines of dialogue, guest stars, character wardrobe, musical scores, and scenic design used as allusions to the Superman comic books and films.”

I’ve seen most of the episodes but never by order, so I’m starting a journey, to watch all the episodes from the beginning! I’ve got the complete season 1 on dvd and now I’m looking forward to buy the complete season 2 which I already saw 4 episodes.

The CastAll great actors! Hope they continue doing a fantastic job and hope to see them more often.
My favourite actors from smallville are: Tom (of course), Kristin, Allison, Michael and Erica.

300

One of the best movies of 2006! The story, the visuals were all perfect and attractive.

It only came to Portugal this month and I went to watch it yesterday with my big sister and friends.

Google-it:

“300 is a 2007 film adaptation of the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller, itself partly inspired by another film based on the Battle of Thermopylae, The 300 Spartans.[1] The film is directed by Zack Snyder with Frank Miller attached as an executive producer and consultant, and was shot mostly with bluescreen to duplicate the imagery of the original comic book. Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fight to the last man against Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his army of over one million soldiers, while in Sparta, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) attempts to rally support for her husband. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by the Spartan soldier Dilios (David Wenham). Through this narrative technique, all manner of fantastical creatures are introduced, placing 300 within the genre of historical fantasy. 300 was released in both conventional and IMAX theaters in America on March 9, 2007. The film broke box office records, although critics were divided over its look and style. Some acclaimed it as an original achievement, while others accused it of favoring visuals over characterization. Controversy arose over its depiction of the ancient world for it is a fabricated version of the truth in its depiction of both the Greeks and the Persians.”

And I must say, Gerard was HOT!

Friday the 13th

Yesterday, Friday 13, the day that haunts us all… I got curious and google-it:

“A Friday occurring on the 13th day of any month is considered to be a day of bad luck in English, German, Polish and Portuguese-speaking cultures around the globe. Similar superstitions exist in some other traditions. In Greece or Spain, for example, Tuesday the 13th takes the same role. In Russia, the unlucky day is Monday. The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia (a word that is derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Παρασκευή, δεκατρείς, and φοβία, meaning Friday, thirteen, and phobia respectively; alternate spellings include paraskevodekatriaphobia or paraskevidekatriaphobia) or friggatriskaidekaphobia, and is a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a phobia (fear) of the number thirteen.”

Interesting… I can say now that I have paraskavedekatriaphobia. I hate Friday 13, something bad always happens. But I guess destiny was fond of me, nothing, this year, happened – thank God.

But wait there’s more:

“Before the 20th century, although there is evidence that the number 13 was considered unlucky, and Friday was considered unlucky, there was no link between them.
Many popular stories exist about the origin of the concept:
- The Last Supper, with stories that Judas was the thirteenth guest, and that the Crucifixion of Jesus occurred Friday.
- That the biblical Eve offered the fruit to Adam on a Friday, and that the slaying of Abel happened on a Friday (though the Bible does not identify the days of the week when these events occurred). [1]
- Many modern stories (including The Da Vinci Code) claim that when King Philip IV had many Knights Templar simultaneously arrested on Friday, October 13, 1307, that started the legend of the unlucky Friday the 13th.
Neither these nor any other historical date have been verifiably identified as the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition. The first documented mention of a "Friday the 13th" is generally listed as occurring in the early 1900s.
In the case of Greece, Tuesday, April 13, 1204 was the date that Constantinople was sacked by the crusaders of the Fourth Crusade. The first-ever fall of what was then the richest Christian city, and the looting that followed, allegedly gave Tuesday 13 its bad meaning. Coincidentally, Constantinople fell for the second time in its history on Tuesday, May 29, 1453, to the Ottoman Turks, a date that puts an end to the Byzantine empire, and to Greek sovereignty for several centuries, and therefore reinforcing Tuesday as an unlucky day in the Greek world.”
